John Joseph Temple, Rose Avenue, Grimsby Beach, died at his home Sunday, in his 73rd year.

Born in England, October 6, 1879, a son of the late Thomas and Ann (Topping) Temple, he came to Canada 40 years ago. He settled in Western Canada where he was employed as a section foreman on the Canadian National Railways until his retirement in 1944. He took up residence at Grimsby Beach 7 years ago.

A veteran of the First World War, he served with the 85th Nova Scotia Highlanders, and was awarded the Military Medal. He was a member of the Anglican Church, the I.O.O.F., and the Canadian Legion.

Funeral services were held in St. Andrew's Church, by Rev. E.A. Brooks on Wednesday afternoon. Interment was made in St. Andrew's Churchyard.
