George S. Morris, a former Grimsby resident, died on Monday in Windsor, Ontario, where he had lived for the last 2 years with a daughter, Mrs. Hamilton Smith.
He was born in Michigan on August 14, 1872. He had been employed by the Canadian Pacific Railway all his life. On his retirement after 30 years in Brandon, Manitoba, he came to live in Grimsby. He was a life member of The Barton Lodge, No. 6, A.F. and A.M., a Shriner, and a thirty-second degree Mason.
He is survived by one son, George Chester Morris, St. Benedict, Saskatchewan; three daughters, Mrs. John F. Schooley, Grimsby; Mrs. Gordon D. Herbert, Kelowna, B.C.; and Mrs. Hamilton Smith, Windsor, Ont.; two brothers, James Morris, of Buffalo, and Stanley Morris, of Florida; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
The body arrived from Windsor Tuesday afternoon and then rested at the Stonehouse Funeral Home, Grimsby.
A Masonic service will be held on this Thursday evening and funeral services will be held from the funeral home on Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock with burial being made in Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
