Isaiah Piett, life-long resident of the district, died on Saturday at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Grimsby, following a lengthy illness.

In his 82nd year, he was born in Caistor Township on Oct. 27th, 1870, a son of the late Aaron and Sarah Piett. A farmer, he had lived in Caistor until moving to North Grimsby 18 years ago. He was an honorary deacon of the Grimsby Baptist Church.

Surviving besides his wife, the former Mary M. Jackson, are three sons and one daughter, Walter Piett of Hamilton, Norman of Smithville, Roy of Grimsby, and Mrs. G. Heathfield (Mabel) of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; also 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren survive.

Rev. C.R.Duncan conducted the funeral service at the Stonehouse Funeral Home on Tuesday afternoon. Burial was made in Queen's Lawn Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Erland Morris, Donald and Jack Piett, Ralph Wilkins and Norman Lunt.
