Kenneth C. Nelson, of Grimsby Beach, a life-long resident of the Grimsby district, died suddenly on Saturday evening.
Stricken while working around his home on Saturday morning, he died at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital a few hours later.
In his 41st year, he was born July 10, 1911 near Fruitland, the son of Mrs. Mabel (White) Nelson and the late Ernest Nelson. A welder at the Metal Craft Co., he had been an active and popular member of the Grimsby Fire Department for several years.
Surviving besides his wife, the former Sadie Phipps, is a son, Bruce Nelson; also two brothers, Murray and Warren Nelson, both of Grimsby; and two sisters, Mrs. Bert Culp, of Grimsby Beach, and Mrs. Ralph Johnson, of Smithville.
The body rested at the Stonehouse Funeral Home, Grimsby, where funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. C.R. Duncan of Grimsby Baptist Church officiating. Interment was made in Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
Casket bearers were members of the Grimsby Fire Department: Chief Alf LePage, Deputy-Chief W.M. Lawson, Ernest and William Stuart, Ollie Shaw and Clarence McNinch.
