John Jeffers Davidson, a resident of the Clinton district for the past 10 years, died in his 85th year at the Memorial Hospital on Wednesday evening, October 24th.
Deceased was born at Drayton, Ont., and was a school teacher by profession. He had lived in western Canada for a number of years, but for some time had made his home with his son, O.D. Davidson, in Clinton Township.
He is survived by his widow, the former Almeda Montgomery; a daughter, Mrs. E.J.R. Mason, of Toronto; tow sons, Oral of Clinton, and Clive of Winnipeg; two brothers, Joseph of Drayton, and Richard, of Lethbridge, Alta.; two sisters, Mrs. W. Jones and Mrs. G. Johnston, of Vancouver, and also four grandchildren.
His eldest son, Lieut. Lavell Davidson, was killed while serving in France in World War I.
The funeral was held on Friday afternoon from the J.W. Buck & Son Funeral Home. Interment was in Mt. Osborne Cemetery.
Rev. R.K. Lemkay, of Trinity United Church, Grimsby, conducted the service. The following gentlemen acted as bearers: Harold Jarvis, H.V. Betzner, M.A. Johnson, Elmon Cosby, O.B. Annable and Charles Wilcox.
