Stafford Atkinson, well known citizen of Beamsville and district, passed away at the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital on Wednesday morning. He was in his 67th year.

A former councillor of the village, he came to Beamsville some 34 years ago, where he operated a garage for over 15 years. For the past 18 years he was a stock-keeper with the Ontario Department of Highways.

He is survived by his widow, the former F.M. Blackstone; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Webster (Doris), Philadelphia, Pa.; and a son, RCAF Sgt. Reginald Atkinson, at Summerside, P.E.I.; three brothers, Horworth Atkinson, K.C., Belleville; Kingsley, London, and Alfred of Larder Lake, also survive. A sister predeceased him several years ago.

Funeral service will be held on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the J.W. Buck & Son Funeral Home, Beamsville. Interment will be made in Caledonia Cemetery.
