Mrs. George Kanmacher died on Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H.G. Mogg, 14 Kidd Ave., Grimsby. She was in her 82nd year.
The former Mary Heise, she was born in Preston, July 26, 1870, the daughter of the late Henry and Dorothea Heise. A resident of this town for the last 23 years, she had been ill for some time.
A life member of the Lutheran Ladies' Aid, Preston, she had been active in the Grimsby Red Cross. Her husband died 17 years ago.
Mrs. Kanmacher is survived by a son, George, Grimsby; her daughters, Mrs. Mogg, of Grimsby, and Mrs. Russell Thiel, of Preston; one brother, E.G.Heise, of Preston; six sisters, Elizabeth, of Preston; Dora, of Toronto; Mrs. C.C. Hahn, of Kingston; Mrs. J. Munford, of Freeport; Mrs. W.H. Stohrer, of Lansing, Mich.; and Mrs. E.R. Riley, Peterborough; and two grandchildren.
The body rested at her home until Wednesday morning when it was removed to Preston for service on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home. Interment was made in Preston Cemetery.
