St. George's Greek Orthodox Church was the scene, on Saturday, Sept. 22nd, of the wedding of Victoria, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Bajus, Grimsby, to John Maruschuk, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Maruschuk, Winona, with Rev. W. Fedak of Hamilton officiating.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was gowned in white bridal satin, fashioned with tight bodice and lace yoke, the full skirt falling into a small train trimmed with Chantilly lace frills. The veil was adorned by a coronet of rhinestones and pearls. Yellow Pinnochio roses and bouvardia formed the bride's bouquet.
Miss Pauling Shuwera, Grimsby, as maid of honour, wore a nile green nylon marquisette over silk, with tightly fitted cutwork bodice and net braided headdress to match. Her bouquet was of garnet rosettes.
The bridesmaids, Miss Mildred Chorney of St. Catharines, cousin of the bride, and Miss Ann Shean of Winona, wore nile green nylon marquisette gowns. Ann Kuz, of Grimsby, wore orchid nylon; and all wore matching braided net headdresses and carries pink Pinnochio roses.
The flower girls, Misses Theresa Iwanec and Linda Kreski, of Hamilton, the groom's nieces, wore yellow taffeta and carried pink Pinnochio roses.
Mr. Nick Meroniuk, of Grimsby, was best man. Messrs. John Sopo, Grimsby, Bill Lenko, Beamsville, and Roy Smerek, Grimsby, were ushers.
Gladioli and dahlias decorated the church.
The reception was held at St. George's Church parish hall in Grimsby. The bride's mother wore a light cocoa brown crepe dress with brown velvet accessories, while the groom's mother wore navy crepe with navy accessories. Both had corsages of Virginia Delight carnations.
Leaving for their wedding trip by motor to Buffalo, the bride chose a blue suit and white blouse with navy accessories. Her corsage was Pinnochio roses.
The couple will reside on Knox St., Hamilton.
