Archie Wilcox, 48, of Campden, died in West Lincoln Memorial Hospital shortly before 6 o'clock Sunday morning as a result of head injuries sustained in a two-car collision which occurred near the CNR Station at Beamsville just after midnight Sunday.

Provincial Police said Wilcox was driving west on Green Lane and had apparently intended to make a left-hand turn onto Ontario Street when his machine was in collision with a car driven by Stanley Piorazynski, 23, of Dawson Road, Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Rushed to hospital in an Upper ambulance, Wilcox never regained consciousness. Neither the driver nor passengers in the other vehicle involved sustained serious injury. No inquest will be held.

Mr. Wilcox has lived in Campden for the majority of his 48 years, and is survived by his wife, the former Bessie Boose, and a 12-year-old son, Merrill. Two sisters, Mrs. Frank Bowman, R.R. 3, Beamsville, and Mrs. Norris Merritt, of Grimsby, survive; also two brothers, George, of Beamsville, and Elmer, of Grimsby Beach.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Tallman Funeral Home, Campden.
