Robert Benjamin McNinch died Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James Hiscott, Smithville, after a lingering illness.

Born on March 28, 1862, in Caistor Township, a son of the late John McNinch and Phoebe Shank, a descendant of U.E. Loyalists, he was in his 90th year. He had lived for 70 years in South Grimsby Township as a farmer, before moving to Smithville 10 years ago to reside with his daughter. He was an adherent of the United Church. His wife, the former Mary Ann Joslin, died 10 years ago.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Jame Hiscott, Smithville; Mrs. Abram Erb, Campden; and Mrs. Cecil David, Vinemount. Also 30 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Scott McNinch, of Canboro, survive.
