Suffering a sudden seizure Friday afternoon, William Harvery [sic] Barnim passed away in spite of medical aid.
Deceased was born in Tillsonberg, the son of Edward and Lucinda Barnim, and came to Grimsby 45 years ago. He was one of the stone masons who constructed the newer portion of The Village Inn in 1907.
For many years he was a gateman with the CNR until his retirement 7 years ago. He was an adherent of the Grimsby Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ethel Cowan; one daughter, Mrs. William Byford, Tillsonburg; one brother, Charles, of Ingersoll.
Funeral services were conducted at the Stonehouse Funeral Home on Sunday by Rev. C.R. Duncan of Grimsby Baptist Church. Interment was in Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Ernie Barnim, Earl Duffield, John Budge, Jack Morris, Joe Waites and Fred Bivand.
