In Trinity United Church, Grimsby, on September 1st, the wedding was solemnized of Joyce Ellen, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Metcalfe, of Grimsby, and John Raymond Westell, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.J. Westell, of Hamilton.
The wedding music was played by T.L. Dymond and Rev. C.R. Duncan officiated.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a graceful gown of white bridal satin; her finger-tip veil was held in place by a coronet of seed pearls and she carried a bouquet of white chrysanthemums. Her cousin, Miss Dorothy Metcalfe, wearing a lovely gown of blue taffeta and carrying yellow chrysanthemums, was her bridesmaid.
Mr. Robert Westell, brother of the groom, was best man, and Arthur and David Metcalfe, brothers of the bride, were ushers.
A reception for 43 guests was held at El Rancho Casa Blanca. The bride's mother received the guests, wearing a grey crepe and lace dress with grey accessories and corsage of pink sweetheart roses. The groom's mother wore a dress of taupe crepe trimmed with brown velvet and had brown accessories; she wore a corsage of pink sweetheart roses.
After the reception Mr. and Mrs. Westell left by plane for Ottawa, the bride wearing a grey tailored suit, white blouse and black accessories; her corsage was of gardenias.
