A marriage was solemnized on Saturday, August 4th, in Trinity United Church, Beamsville, between Ernest Albert Hodges, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. Hodges, and Elizabeth Katherine, daughter of Mr. K. and the late Mrs. Kuntz, of Grimsby. The Rev. C.M. Currie officiated.
The bride was gowned in three-quarter length white nylon marquisette and wore a white net picture hat. Her bouquet was of red rosettes and bouvardia. She was given in marriage by her father.
Miss Janet Fillimchuk attended the bride wearing apple green nylon marquisette in three-quarter-length, with matching net picture hat. She carried a nosegay of yellow gladiolus and roses.
The groomsman was Jack Hodges, brother of the groom, and the ushers were Ray Hodges and John Burke.
The wedding music was provided by Mr. Findlay.
A reception was held following the ceremony at the Tourist Centre, decorated for the occasion with pink and white streamers and wedding bells, centred in a three-tiered wedding cake. Eighty guests were in attendance, some coming from Niagara Falls, Waterford, Toronto and Detroit. The groom's mother received in a becoming navy dress with navy blue accessories and an orchid corsage.
For the wedding trip to Detroit and Chicago, the bride wore navy with white lace and accessories. Her corsage was pink rosettes. Mr. and Mrs. Hodges will make their home in Beamsville.
