The marriage of Katherine Nellie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Treschuk of Grimsby, to Mr. Lloyd William Lounsbury, of Toronto, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Lounsbury, Beamsville, took place in the Trinity United Church, Beamsville, on Saturday, June 23rd. Baskets of peonies and lilies decorated the church for the ceremony, which was performed by Rev. Dr. C.M. Currey. Miss Dorothy Manley was soloist and Mr. Wallace Findlay played the organ.
Given in marriage by her uncle, Mr. Frank Bentley, the bride wore a gown of white Chantilly lace and net over satin, with a full skirt forming a long train. Her embroidered fingertip veil fell from a tiara set with seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of sweetheart roses. Miss Olga Treschuk, her sister, was maid of honour, wearing a gown of blue nylon marquisette over taffeta with brocaded bodice and cape. The bridesmaids, Misses Elsie and Virginia Treschuk, also sisters of the bride, wore similar gowns in light mauve. All wore matching headdresses and carried bouquets of pink and white carnations. Miss Barbara Lounsbury, the groom's sister, was junior bridesmaid, and Miss Elizabeth Lounsbury, the groom's niece, acted as flower girl. They wore yellow nylon marquisette over taffeta and carried nosegays of sweet peas and rosebuds.
Mr.Ray Lounsbury of Toronto, brother of the groom, was groomsman, and Mr. Rudy Janzen and Mrs. Henry Windecker were ushers.
A reception for 70 guests was held at the Hotel Henley, St. Catharines, where the bride's mother received in a dress of pink with white accessories and white corsage.
For a wedding trip to the southern States, the bride donned a pale blue suit with which she wore white accessories and a corsage of pink rosebuds. On their return the young couple will reside in Toronto.
