The marriage was solemnized in St. Andrew's Church, Grimsby, on Saturday, June 16th, at 6 p.m., of Eleanor Jewell de la Plante, daughter of Mrs. de la Plante and the late Charles de la Plante, and Arthur Craig Bowden, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.W.Bowden, of Toronto. The Rev. E.A.Brooks officiated.
The bride was charmingly gowned in white Chantilly lace with bouffant skirt of white silk net, and corsage of fleur d'amour. She was given in marriage by Col. H.W. Scruton, Chatham, N.J.
The bridesmaids were Mrs. H.H. Edmison, Toronto, Miss Margaret Scruton, Chatham, N.J., and Miss Marion Rolls, Islington. Their gowns, similar to that worn by the bride, were of apple green tulle, with headdresses of purple iris.
Mr. John Applegath, Toronto, attended the groom, and the ushers were Havelock Jewson, Grimsby, Robert Liddle, Toronto, and John Neil, Caledon.
Mr Lloyd Dymond was at the organ, and Mrs. Donald Woodrow, Toronto, sang.
At the reception following the ceremony the bride's mother wore a navy blue sheer dress with navy picture hat, and a corsage of red carnations.
Mr. and Mrs. Bowden left on a wedding trip to the Southern States, the bride wearing a white silk shantung suit with navy trim, white and navy hat, and corsage of red geraniums.
