A Grimsby pioneer, James Gray Armstrong, passed away peacefully at Hamilton General Hospital Wednesday morning, where he had been confined for the past 9 days, He was in his 88th year.

The late James Armstrong was a successful farmer, practicing this occupation on the Ridge Road, North Grimsby Township, for over half a century. Born in Millbrook, March 23, 1863, he was the son of the late James and Elizabeth Armstrong. He retired in 1943, and his closest survivors are two sisters, Mrs. W.T. Thompson and Mrs. S.D.Biggar, both of Hamilton. Deceased never married.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Stonehouse Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. J.P. McLeod will officiate. Interment will be made in Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
