In Zion United Church, Brantford, on October 7th, Kathleen Valerie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Shillington, Brantford, and Arthur DeWitt Fleming, son of Mrs. Aubrey D. Fleming, Beamsville, and the late Mr. Fleming, were married. The Rev. Dr. Charles Collins officiated.
Given away by her father, the bride wore a lace and net over ivory satin gown, with fitted jacket and the full skirt of net gathered at the hipline. Her fingertip veil was caught to a lace coronet and she carried Joanna Hill roses.
Mrs. Beverly H. Scull, Jordan, was matron of honour, in moss green taffeta, and carrying bronze baby chrysanthemums; Miss Karin Shillington, in gold taffeta, and Miss Louise Thrasher, St. Catharines, in copper, all having matching lace jackets, were bridesmaids.
Mr. Bruce C. Merritt, Beamsville, attended the groom, and the ushers were Mr. Beverly H. Scull, Jordan; Mr. William C. McCleister, and Mr. Charles E. Brown, Brantford, and Mr. John A. Shillington, Camp Borden. Mr. George A. Small was organist, and Mrs. Otto Swiggum sang.
After a honeymoon trip to Florida, the couple will live in Beamsville.
For travelling the bride was in a Glen Check suit with red accessories.
