On Saturday afternoon, September 23rd, in Grassie Gospel Church, at 2:30 o'clock, the wedding took place of Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Dyck, Grimsby, to Harold Gordon Hilberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hilberg, Grassie. The Rev. R.H. Bradley officiated.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her white satin gown was fashioned with fitted bodice and full skirt, and her fingertip veil fell from a satin headdress. She carried a bouquet of red roses and white gardenias. Her only attendant was her sister, Miss Ann Dyck, attired in pale blue taffeta, with net skirt, carrying a bouquet of gladioli and roses.
Mr. Donald Hilberg, brother of the groom, was best man. The ushers were Messrs. Ronald Vickers and Frank Dyck, both of Grimsby.
Miss Maxine Hysert was soloist, singing "O Perfect Love" and " I Love You Truly", accompanied by Mrs. Donovan Hysert at the piano.
A reception followed at the home of the bride's parents, with the bride's mother receiving in a flowered jersey dress and the groom's mother assisting in blue crepe, both wearing corsages of pink roses.
The happy couple left for a trip to Northern Ontario, the bride travelling in a grey gabardine suit with black accessories, and wearing a corsage of pink carnations.
Upon their return, the young couple will live in their new home on the Ridge Road, Grimsby.
