Following a long illness, Mrs. Dorothy R.E. Calder, wife of Roy C. Calder, former residents of Grimsby, died Thursday in the Toronto General Hospital, in her 54th year.

Born in West Flamboro Township, she had spent her early years in Toronto and graduated from the University of Toronto, taught household science at the Ontario Ladies' College, Whitby, and later at Beamsville High School. She had lived in St. Catharines for 25 years. She was a member of the University Women's Club. During the war, Mrs. Calder was active in the food administration branch of the Red Cross. She was a member of First United Church and active in the women's work of that church.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, John W. and Douglas W. Calder.
