Louis Wilbert Sovereign, former grocery store owner at Grimsby and Beamsville, and later a fruit grower at Grimsby, died at a Hamilton hospital Monday.

In his 83rd year, he was born near Waterford. His home since he retired in 1942 had been at Grimsby Beach but he had been in hospital for the last 4 years.

He was a member of Trinity United Church, Grimsby.

Surviving, besides his wife, are a son, Louis A., of Waterford, and a daughter, Mrs. Lorne Wheeler, of Hamilton.

Remains rested at the Stonehouse Funeral Home, Grimsby, where service was conducted by the Rev. C.R.Duncan on Wednesday afternoon.

Interment was made in Queen's Lawn Cemetery, Grimsby.

Casket bearers were A.W.Eickmier, Bert Greenwood, Allan Smith, George W. Crittenden, Fred Winters and George Fair.
