White lilies and pink gladioli formed the setting in Fifty United Church, Winona, for the wedding at 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon, July 29th, of Dorothy Louise, daughter of Mr. J.P. Bridgman and the late Mrs. Bridgman, to Mr. John Arthur Durfey, Hamilton, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Durfey. The Rev. C.A.Bridgman, Winona, uncle of the bride, conducted the ceremony. Mrs. Secord Hardwick was soloist and Mr. Harold Hewitson organist.
Given away by her father, the bride wore a gown of satin and lace, with a veil of fingertip-length and a bouquet of pink sweetheart roses. Mrs. D.E.Bride, sister of the groom, was matron of honour in blue net with headdress to match and bouquet of pink carnations. Mr. Ted Fairbanks, Hamilton, acted as best man; Messrs. Frank Baine, Hamilton, and Howard Bridgman, Winona, brother of the bride,were ushers.
A reception for 60 guests was held at the home of the bride's parents, Mrs. J.P. Bridgman, stepmother of the bride, receiving, assisted by Mrs. Fred Mehrer, Detroit, cousin of the groom.
For the wedding trip to the Maritimes and New England States, the bride travelled in a suit of powder blue with white and navy accessories.
The couple will reside in Winona.
