On Saturday, July 22, 1950, at 3 o'clock, the wedding took place in St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Grimsby, of Joyce Myrtle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morden Beckett, Troy, Ont., to Mr. John Howard Fulford, son of Mrs. Fulford, South Grimsby, Ont., and the late Mr. Edward Fulford. The Rev. E.A.Brooks officiated at the double ring ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of blue taffeta, and her veil of fingertip-length fell from a headdress of orange blossoms. She carried a cascade of Sweetheart roses and gardenias.
The maid of honour, Miss Marie Wilson of Winona, was frocked in yellow and carried cream and pink lilies and cream gladioli, while the bridesmaid, Miss Vera Summers of Troy, was in pink and carried yellow gladioli. Both wore feather headdresses [and] matching gowns.
Mr. John Sheehan, Hamilton, was groomsman; Mr. Donald Hilberg, South Grimsby, and Mrs. Geo. Thomas, Hamilton, ushered. Summer flowers decorated the church.
Sixty guests attended the reception at the Gage home, the bride's mother receiving in navy sheer with white accessories and corsage of white gardenias.
For the wedding trip to the Maritimes and United States points, the bride chose a smart green suit with white accessories. The couple will reside in South Grimsby.
