After an illness of 4 months' duration, Mrs. Hester Elizabeth Baker, widow of John S. Baker, late of Grimsby, died Friday at St. Joseph's hospital, Hamilton, in her 74th year. For the past two years Mrs. Baker had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Milton B. Zimmerman at 27 Cliff avenue, Hamilton. Born in Farren's Point, Ontario, Mrs. Baker had, after her marriage, resided in Aultsville, Ont., later moving to Grimsby, where she spent the latter part of her life prior to going to Hamilton. For many years Mrs. Baker had been an active and devout church worker and was a life member of the W.M.S. of the United Church. Besides her daughter with whom she made her home, there survive two other daughters, Mrs. Howard B. Forda, of New York, and Mrs. Daniel B. Newell, of San Francisco; four sons, W.R.Baker, of Edmonton; J.C. Baker, city; W.G.S.Baker, in London, and J.W. baker, in Grimsby, and one sister, Mrs. H. Robie, of Calgary. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock from 27 Cliff avenue, Mount Hamilton, to Queen's Lawn Cemetery, Grimsby.
