The death occurred suddenly just before midnight, on Tuesday, June 20th, of William Crown Montgomery, at his home, 24 St. Andrew's Avenue, where he has been residing for the past 5 years.
Born in Blyth, Ontario, on January 30th, 1896, he was in his 55th year, and was a salesman for Canadian Alcohol Company of Montreal.
His only survivor is his wife, the former Edna Webb.
The late Mr. Montgomery was a member of Trinity United Church, and a life member of Seaforth Masonic Lodge; also a Royal Arch Mason, Grimsby Chapter.
Rev. R.K. Lemkay will conduct the service at Stonehouse Funeral Home on Friday, June 30th, at 3:30 p.m. Interment will be made in Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
Grimsby Independent 29 June 1950 - William C. Montgomery was laid to rest on Friday, June 23rd, interment being made in Queen's Lawn Cemetery. Rev. R.K. Lemkay, of Trinity United Church, officiated at the service, held from the Stonehouse Funeral Home, Mountain St., Grimsby.
Casket bearers were Messrs. George and Edward Webb, Arthur Rick, Clifford McCartney, James Dunham and George West.
