James Leonard Lampman, of Smithville, died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton, on Sunday, after a lingering illness.

He had operated a restaurant in Smithville for 12 years and, in younger life, was a farmer. In his 69th year, he was born in South Grimsby, a son of the late Leonard Lampman. He was a member of the Canadian Order of Foresters.

Surviving, besides his wife, are four sisters and one brother: Mrs. Nettie Hendershott and Mrs. Jennie McConnel, both in Cal.; Mrs. Grace Merritt, Winnipeg; Mrs. Ollie Teeter, in B.C., and Arthur Lampman, of Smithville.
