One of Vineland district's oldest residents, Daniel Webster Moore, died Monday night at his home, R.R. 1, Jordan, in his 93rd year.
Until he took ill three weeks ago, Mr. Moore had been in unusually good health, helping his son, John, with some of the work on the farm.
Of United Empire Loyalist pioneer stock, Mr. Moore was born in the Township of Gainsboro near the farm where he spent most of his life. He was the son of the late John S. Moore and Catharine Bollinger.
Sixty-three years ago, he married Mary E. Allen and moved to the farm where he lived until his death. His wife died in 1930.
Mr. Moore was a member of the United Church at Tintern and the Canadian Order of Foresters.
He leaved three sons, Maurice, of Dunnville; Ethan, of Olcott, N.Y.; and John, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Samuel Culp, of Beamsville; Mrs. Leslie Jackson, of Stockton, Cal.; and Mrs. Thomas Greenwood, of Brantford; three brothers, Oscar Moore, of Grimsby; Benjamin, St. Catharines; and Melvin, R.R.1, St. Ann's; also 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
