Jarvis, June 21 - The funeral of Charles E. Bourne was held yesterday, and all business in town was suspended in order to allow those he had associated with all his life to be present to pay their last respects to one whom they so dearly loved. As the funeral cortege wended its way from the old homestead, the bell of St. Paul's Anglican church could be heard tolling in the distance, the church the deceased had attended for over half a century and where many had to be content to listen to the beautiful service on the Church of England from the street, so great was the attendance.

The preacher entered the church by the south door, followed by the rectors of the different parishes of the diocese of Niagara as the funeral procession came in the north door. It required several cars to transfer the flowers from the house to the cemetery. Among the tokens was a beautiful cross from the synod of Niagara, and sprays from Haldimand county council and the Grimsby town council. The clergymen taking part in the service were: Rev. W.D. Kyle, rector of the church; Rev. Archdeacon MacIntosh; Rev. Mackinnon Spencer of Hamilton; Rev. Archdeacon Richardson, of York; Rev. P.W. Smith, of Byng; Rev. G. Herron, Dunnville, and Rev. J.A. Ballard, of Grimsby. Rev. Canon Ferguson, secretary of the Niagara Synod, represented the bishop.
