Death came Saturday to John Friskin Glanville following an illness of some duration. He was in his 48th year.
Although he had been a resident of Grimsby for only a short time, he had become well known and highly respected here, as he was throughout Hamilton, Toronto and the Niagara Peninsula, where a great many business and social acquaintances will learn with regret of his passing.
He was born in Leduc, Alta., and received his schooling in Alberta. In 1925 he joined the staff of the Canada Life Assurance Company in Edmonton, later serving in Toronto and Hamilton. For the past four years he had been manager of the Central Mortgage Branch in Hamilton.
He was always active in affairs of the community in which he resided and locally was a highly regarded member of the Grimsby Lions Club, and also a valued member of Trinity United Church, Grimsby. Mr. Glanville was a Royal Arch Mason.
Surviving are his wife, the former Ruth Shaw; two sons, John and William, and a sister, Mrs. W.I. McKinley, of New Westminster, B.C.
