A resident of Grimsby Beach since 1946, William Furniss Clarke passed away Tuesday evening, January 17th, following a lingering illness. He is survived by his wife, Mildred.

Deceased was born in England, and came to Montreal 50 years ago, where he was a mechanical engineer for many years. At the Beach he maintained a small acreage of fruit.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, William F. Clarke, a daughter, Mrs. George Eckstein, and a brother, J. Arthur Clarke, all of Montreal. Sisters of the deceased also survive, they being residents of England.

Funeral services and interment will be held in Montreal on Friday, the remains being forwarded by train on Wednesday.

Deceased was an adherent of St. Andrew's Anglican Church, and was a member of the Masonic Order.
