A very pretty Christmas wedding took place on Tuesday, December 27th, in the chapel at Albert College, Belleville, when Jane Waterfielde, Belleville, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Higgins, became the bride of L.A.C. David Jas. McLeod, son of Mr. and Mrs. G.N. McLeod, of Winnipeg. The Rev. Dr. Bert Howard, of Albert College, performed the ceremony and Mr. Alec Gordon presided at the organ.

After the guests were assembled and before the ceremony, Mrs. Doris Burgoyne sang "The Lord's Prayer", and during the signing of the register, "Because".

The bride, who was accompanied to the altar by her brother, Thomas H. Higgins, was beautiful in a gown of ivory pebbled silk, fashioned with low neckline of Carrickmacross lace, a fitted pointed bodice and train. Her long tulle veil was held by a Carrickmacross lace cap and was caught with orange blossoms. She carried a white prayer book with camellias and streamers with rose buds.

The bride's only attendant was Miss Mary Ann Emery, of Belleville, who was lovely in a pale green and gold gown with matching coronet. She carried a basket of yellow roses and baby 'mums.

The groom was supported by A.C. 1 George Martin, and the ushers were L.A.C. Bob Beale and A.C. Ron Smith, all of whom wore the Air Force uniform.

Christmas decorations were of the prevailing pine and cedar trees, holly and cedar boughs with tall white candles in graceful candelabra.

The reception was held at the girls' residence, O.S.D., where Christmas greens, candles and poinsettias were again used in decoration.

The bride's mother received, assisted by the groom's mother and his aunt, Miss Tanyss McLeod, who flew from Winnipeg for the occasion.

For going away, the bride changed to a dark green gabardine suit, matching hat, a black fur shortie coat, and black accessories.

Other out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. A.G. Hitchon, Mrs. W.W. Hitchon, Miss M.A. Wallace, Miss Agnes MacGillivray, all of Brantford, and L.A.C. Peter Thrasher, R.C.A.F., St. Hubert.

The young couple will reside in Belleville upon returning from their honeymoon.
