Russell Gage Olmstead, a resident of Smithville, died Wednesday night at St. Joseph's hospital, Hamilton, after a lengthy illness. Mr. Olmstead was born at Tweedside and formerly resided in Grimsby, only recently moving to Smithville. He was a member of St. John's Presbyterian Church at Grimsby. Left to mourn besides his widow are one son, Hugh; one daughter, Mary, at home; his father, William Olmstead of Grassie; two brothers, George of Hamilton and William of Buffalo, and one sister, Mrs. Joseph Walker of Grimsby. The funeral took place from his late residence on Mill Street, Smithville, on Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, to Union cemetery.
