The death occurred at Ridgeway, Ont., on Wednesday, August 20, 1924, of Philip Smith Gilray in his 69th year. Mr. Gilray lived for many years in North Grimsby on Main Street east and will be remembered by many. He was the son of the late Rev. James Gilray of Grimsby and later of Buffalo, inventor and pioneer manufacturer of the Gilray Curtain Stretcher, and at the time of his death P.S. Gilray was and had been for many years an active member of the firm.

Surviving are his wife and daughter, Miss Phylis Gilray of Ridgeway, four sisters, and two brothers: Robert Gilray of Oshkosh, Wisconsin; Mrs. Judson D. Russ of Grimsby; Mrs. F.H. Armstrong of Grimsby; Dr. Ed. J. Gilray of Cuba, N.Y.; Mrs. Jos. C. Adams and Mrs. Eddie McClung of Seattle, Wash. The funeral took place on Friday, August 22 from his late home to Forest Lawn Cemetery at Buffalo.
