Mrs. David W. Nicholls, the former Manetta A. Dougherty, widow of David W. Nicholls, died at her home in Caistor Township on Monday, in her 80th year.

Born in Grimsby, daughter of the late John B. and Mrs. Dougherty, she lived at Spring Creek until 1893 when she was united in marriage to David W. Nichols [sic], and had lived in Caistor Township since that time.

She was a member of Kerr United Church.

Surviving are three sons, George Ernest, of Caistor Township, Hugh John, of Binbrook Township, and Claude B., of Hamilton; three grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Her husband died in January of this year and one daughter, Rhea, Mrs. Lorne Freeman, 16 years ago.

The remains are resting at the Book Funeral Home, Smithville, where the funeral service will be held this Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with interment in Kerry Church cemetery.
