A quiet double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. A.L. Griffith in the parsonage of Trinity United Church on Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, when Marjorie Edna, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sweet, Ontario Street, Beamsville, was united in marriage to John A., son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Allan of Niagara Falls, Ontario.
Only the families and a few close friends were present for the ceremony. Attending the bride was Mrs. Hazel Goodfellow of Beamsville, while the bridegroom's brother, Douglas Allan, of Niagara Falls, was the best man.
The bride was dressed in a street length dress of turquoise blue with navy accessories, and wore a corsage of pink gardenias. The maid of honor wore a street length dress of midnight blue with gray accessories and chose a corsage of red roses.
The reception was held at the bride's parents' home, Ontario Street, Beamsville, where her mother received in a green flowered crepe ensemble, with black accessories and wearing red roses. The groom's mother wore a navy sheer with matching navy and white accessories and wore pink roses.
Following a short wedding trip, the couple returned to their new home at 389 Ontario St., Beamsville.
