Robert Swackhammer, who was taken to Hamilton City Hospital to be operated on for appendicitis on April 2nd, died Saturday, April 12, at the age of 60 years.
The deceased gentleman had resided in Grimsby for over 25 years. He was the son of the late Hiram Swackhammer, who resided near Guelph in the county of Wellington.
He is survived by his wife, one brother, and 6 sisters: Jacob, of Bay City, Mich.; Mrs. A. Campbell, Hamilton; Mrs. J. Dryden, Guelph; Mrs. B. Wilson, Everton; Mrs. D. Kenny, Guelph; Mrs. A. Wilson, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. A. Young, Rockwood.
The funeral took place on Monday afternoon, April 14th to Queen's Lawn Cemetery, the Rev. Mr. Milliken conducting the service.
Pallbearers: Messrs. George Sunley, Wm. Groce, Wm. Robinson, Edward Todd, Murray Lawrie, Irvine Olmstead.
