Thomas Albert Mackie, road superintendent of North Grimsby Township for the last 12 years, died at Hamilton General Hospital on Sunday, May 15th. He had been in poor health for some time. In his 61st year, he was born in North Grimsby on August 28, 1888, a son of the late James and Almina Mackie, and had resided in this township all his life. He was an adherent of St. John's Presbyterian Church, Grimsby. Surviving, besides his wife, the former Jennie Landowns, is a daughter, Mrs. Lea Cowan, R.R. 3, Simcoe; also two brothers, Charles of Fonthill, and Robert, of Grimsby; and two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Marlow, North Grimsby, and Mrs. Arthur Cox, of Brantford.
Funeral service was held from the Stonehouse Funeral Home, Grimsby, on Wednesday, at 2 p.m., with Rev. J.P.McLeod officiating. Interment was made in Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Lew McNiven, George Crittenden, Leslie Shirton, Oscar Bowman, Clifford Field and George Douglas.
