George James Lane, 8 Oakwood Avenue, Simcoe, died yesterday at his home following several weeks' illness. He was in his 69th year. Born in Melbourne, Ont., he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Lane. He resided in Alberta until he was 14 years of age and later lived in Windsor and Leamington. Moving to Port Rowan in 1935, he resided there until 1946, when he came to Simcoe. He was a member of Port Rowan Baptist Church. Surviving besides his widow, the former Luella Livingstone, are three sons, Gordon, of Port Rowan, Neal, of Simcoe, and James of Grimsby; one daughter, Mrs. Walter Cope, of Aylmer; one brother, Edward, of Pontiac, Mich., and one sister, Mrs. W. McKay, of Carstairs, Alta.
