Mrs. Charles Pottruff, a resident of Grimsby for the last 4 years and of North Grimsby Township for 27 years, died at her home following a lingering illness.
The former Annie Lillian Whaley, she was born in Seneca Township, a daughter of the late Samuel and Catherine Whaley, on February 5, 1875, and was in her 75th year.
She was a member of Trinity United Church, of Trinity Women's Association, and of the Women's Institute.
Surviving are her husband; one son, Vincent Pottruff, of Ancaster, and one daughter, Mrs. Lyall Merritt, (Leila) of Smithville; also two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Aletha Book, Mrs. Theresa Horning and Ormiston Whaley, all of Ancaster; and 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
The pallbearers were W.A. McNiven, J.O. Moore, P.E. Wilkins, Spencer Merritt, Emery Patterson and Robert Johnson. The service was held in Trinity United Church with Rev.A.L. Griffith officiating. Interment was made in White Brick Cemetery, Ancaster.
