After an illness extending over a period of several months, the death occurred on Sunday of William Barlow at his home on No. 8 Highway east, in his 65th year.
Deceased was born in Derby, Eng., and came to Canada 41 years ago, coming to Grimsby where he was connected with the late Samuel E. Mabey in the butcher business. Later he went to Simcoe where he engaged in business and then returned to England as an attache to Ontario House.
Returning to Canada he opened retail butcher shops in Tillsonburg and Delhi. He retired from business 8 years ago and came to Grimsby to reside 3 years ago.
He was a member of St. Andrew's Anglican Church, King Hiram Lodge, A. F. & A.M., Tillsonburg and the Norfolk Golf and Country Club, Simcoe. His wife, the former Helen Hambly of Simcoe, survives.
Funeral was held from the Stonehouse Funeral Home to St. Andrew's church where services were conducted by Rev. A.E. Brooks, assisted by Rev. J. Allan Ballard, interment being made in St. Andrew's cemetery.
Casket bearers were: Fred Jewson, Gordon Lipsit, Awrey Lipsit, Owen Patterson, A.C. Price and H.V. Betzner.
