Palms, ferns and tall standards of chrysanthemums in yellow and bronze with autumn leaves formed the setting in Grimsby Baptist Church on Saturday afternoon, October 9th, for the marriage of Della Kathleen, younger daughter of Mr. Gordon A. Hannah and the late Mrs. Hannah, Grimsby, and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.S. Jantzi, Fergus, to Mr. Robert John Walker, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.W. Walker, Toronto. The Rev. Mr. G.A. McLean conducted the double ring ceremony and Miss Greta Ormiston presided at the organ. Mr. W.A. La Penotiere, uncle of the bride, was soloist.
The bride was given in marriage by her father and wore a graceful gown of white slipper satin and chantilly lace and her shoulder length veil fell from a tiara of seed pearls and orange blossoms. She carried a shower bouquet of gardenias and stephanotis trimmed with tulle. Her maid of honour, Miss Constance Blakely of Fergus, chose a gown of orchid moire and carried a cascade bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums and orchid ostrich plumes. She wore a matching headdress.
The groomsman was Mr. John Bedford of Toronto, and the ushers were Mr. Bruce Walker, Toronto, and Mr. Donald Jantzi, Fergus.
The reception was held at the Village Inn, Grimsby, the bride's mother receiving in a dove grey crepe gown with claret accessories, and she wore an American Pride rose corsage. The groom's mother wore a gown of Victorian wine crepe with matching accessories and her corsage was Better Times yellow roses.
For travelling the bride wore a grey gabardine suit with claret gabardine top coat. Her corsage was of orchids and stephanotis. After their wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Walker will live in Toronto.
