Wellandport, July 31 - Mr. Jack Middleton, who has been a patient in Christie Street Hospital, Toronto, for some time, passed away on Monday in his 82nd year. He was born in Northampton, England, and had a long military career, having served in the Boer War and as a BQMS in the First World War. He also offered his service in the Second World War but was rejected. Mr. Middleton moved from Toronto to the vicinity of Wellandport 28 years ago. He was a mail carrier on the Silverdale, Bismark, St. Ann's route for 12 years. He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Violet La Rose, Lowbanks, and one grandson, Walter La Rose, Wellandport, and three great grandchildren. Three sisters and three brothers also survive. The deceased was buried with military honors at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto.
