Description
Full Text

The death occurred on Sunday afternoon of one of Grimsby's oldest residents, when Mr. Jas. Noke passed over the Great Divide.

The deceased gentleman had the misfortune to fall from the top of a house on Lake Ave. about 2 weeks ago and was in a very precarious condition but the doctors had hope of his pulling through, when traumatic pneumonia set in and he gradually sank until Sunday noon when he passed peacefully away.

Mr. Noke came to Grimsby in the year 1867 from the south of Scotland and was only a lad 12 years old. From that time until his death he lived in and around Grimsby, and had a wide circle of friends.

He leaves to mourn his loss a wife and one step-daughter.

The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon to Queen's Lawn Cemetery and was largely attended. Rev. J. Allan Ballard officiated.
