A host of friends were deeply shocked with the sudden passing of a lifelong resident of this district in the person of Richard Awrey Lipsit, who passed away Tuesday evening, June 22, at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Deceased has been a resident of North Grimsby Township for his entire life span of 52 years, and was a prominent fruit grower.

The late Awrey Lipsit was a Past Master of the Masonic Lodge, A.F. & A.M., also a member of the West Lincoln Branch, Canadian Legion, having seen service in World War 1. Deceased was also a valued member of the Board of Education, and was a member of the United Church.

He is survived by his wife, the former Myrtle Terryberry, two sons, Ross and Douglas, both at home, and one brother, Gordon, of Grimsby.

Funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon from the Stonehouse funeral Home at 2:30 p.m., Rev. A. Leonard Griffith conducting the last rites. Interment will be made in Queen's Lawn Cemetery.
