A double ring ceremony took place in Trinity United Church on Saturday, June 12th, at 2:30 o'clock, uniting in marriage Norma Lorene, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Shelton, and Mr. Francis George May, son of Mr. and Mrs. F.H. May. Rev. A.L. Griffith officiated, assisted by Rev. D.J. Lute.
Wisteria and spring flowers decorated the church. Mrs. Arthur Vickers snag O Perfect Love, and I Love You Truly, accompanied by Mr. D. Kennedy at the organ.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of slipper satin, fashioned with fitted bodice and full skirt ending in a train. Her long veil was caught to a seed pearl headpiece and she carried a white Bible adorned with white gardenias and lily-of-the-valley.
Miss Margaret Furler, of Pontiac, Michigan, was maid of honour for her cousin and wore white marquisette over white rayon. As bridesmaid, Miss Myrtle Davidson of St. Catharines wore white moire taffeta with net apron. Both girls wore half hats and carried cascade bouquets of red peonies.
Mr. Gordon May was groomsman for his brother. The ushers were Mr. Fred May, brother of the groom, and Mr. Walter Reid.
The reception was held at The Pines, Mrs. Shelton receiving in grey mesh with black accessories, while Mrs. May was in rose and navy with white accessories. Their corsages were Talisman roses and Johanna Hill roses respectively.
The bridal couple left for points east and north, the bride travelling in a teal blue barathea suit grey accessories and gardenia corsage. They will reside in Grimsby.
