The death occurred at his home in Waterford on Sunday, June 6th of Phillip Benn in his 90th year.

A son of the late George Benn and Elizabeth Switzer, he was born in Jarvis on October 11th, 1858. On August 31st, 1892, he married Charlotte Jackson, who survives besides one sister, Mrs. Emma Jane Boughner of Waterford.

Mr. Benn was an operator on the old Grand Trunk railway at Nixon for 15 years, moving to Grimsby where he fruit farmed on Main Street East, just outside the town limits, for 33 years before retiring to Hagersville and then to Waterford 7 years ago. He was a member of the United Church.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 8th, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Waterford.
