Funeral services for the late Joel Stockard were held from the Stonehouse Funeral Home and St. Andrew's Church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
Deceased was born in Texas in 1883, and was an investment banker in Detroit from 1911 until 1940, when he retired to Tyron, North Carolina. In his 65th year, deceased passed away in Canandaigua, N.Y., after a lengthy illness.
He is survived by his wife, the former Marjorie Davies, a niece of Mrs. Norman Nelles, Grimsby. One son, William D., of Detroit, and three daughters, Mrs. Wm. L. Vick, Detroit, Mrs. Julian Underwood, Belmont, Mass., and Mrs. George H. Sweasy, Ventnor City, New Jersey.
Rev. E.A. Brooks officiated at the service both at the church and at Queen's Lawn Cemetery, where interment was made.
Pallbearers were Messrs. Geo. Sweasy, William Vick, Malcolm, George and Willison Nelles, and Oscar J. Spence.
