After a lingering illness, the death occurred Saturday of Emma Georgina Howard, wife of the late William J. Neilson, formerly of Grimsby Beach.

Mrs. Neilson was born on Amherst Island, in the Bay of Quinte, in 1865. She was the daughter of the late James Connor Howard and Julia Isabel Chute, both descendants of U.E. Loyalists, and was the eldest of 13 children, five of whom survive, ranging in age from 70 to 81 years.

In 1887 she married William John Neilson who predeceased her in 1940.

She is survived by their four children: Ormiston H., Toronto; Mrs. E. Wishart, Ochre River, Man.; Mrs. A.L. Coleman, Grimsby, and John James, Ridgetown, and also by 3 grandchildren.

Following a private funeral service from J.W. Buck and Son Funeral Parlor, Beamsville, at 2:30 p.m., Monday, Oct 6th. The remains were taken to Sandhurst for interment at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Oct 7th.
