St. Alban's Anglican Church, Beamsville, was the scene of a pretty wedding Saturday afternoon, June 28th, when Miss Bertha Irene Pollock, of Beamsville, became the bride of Ralph Sweet, Grimsby Beach. Rev. E.F. Maunsell conducted the Ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father, Harry Pollock, the bride was gowned in white, with a net skirt and headdress of orange blossoms. She wore a long veil and carried a bouquet of pink carnations, sweet peas and orange blossoms.
Maid of honour was Mrs. C. Copeland, of Beamsville, who was gowned in coral star-flecked crepe. Four bridesmaids attended the bride, Miss Marie Mewhinny of Vineland, in yellow, Miss Irene Hovarth, of St. Catharines, in blue, Miss Theresa Pula, St. Catharines, in pink, and Miss Betty Lucas, St. Catharines, in yellow. The bride's mother wore peach silk jersey, with blue accessories, and the groom's mother wore yellow, with black accessories. Best man was George Meikle of Beamsville.
Following the wedding, a reception was held for 90 guests at Club Henley, St. Catharines. The bride and groom left for Niagara Falls for a honeymoon, following which they will reside in Hespeler where the groom is an employee of the Dominion Woollens and Worsteds.
