After a long illness, John Martin died Saturday afternoon at his residence in Binbrook in his 78th year.

Besides his wife, Margaret, he is survived by: five sons, Cecil, of Binbrook; Norman, of Hamilton; Merlin, of Grimsby; Clifford, of Crystal Beach, and Leslie, of Hannon; four daughters, Mrs. Maxwell Pottruff, of Binbrook; Mrs. Addison Topp, of Blackheath; Mrs. Lloyd Pottruff, of Bartonville, and Mrs. Norval Chown, of Niagara Falls, Ont.; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Laidman, and Mrs. Gordon Bailey of Hamilton; 34 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

The remains rested at the residence in Binbrook where a brief service was held on Wednesday afternoon, followed by a service at the Binbrook Baptist Church at 2:30 o'clock. Interment was made in the Baptist Cemetery, Binbrook.
