Mrs. Elizabeth Van Buskirk [Vanbuskirk], a highly respected resident of North Grimsby, passed away Saturday, July 14th, in her 87th year, having been an invalid for the past three years. She was the daughter of the late Silas and Mary Smith, her father, a United Empire Loyalist, settled at Winona where some of his descendants still occupy a part of the land deeded to him by the Crown. She was laid to rest in the Smith family plot in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Grimsby. Besides the daughter, with whom she lived, Mrs. R.H. Hughes, she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Pettit and Mrs. McNiven, of Tacoma, Wash., and two sons, A.M., of McCeary, Wash., and L.C., of Buffalo.
